Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to both LunaLux HDR and LunaLux Editor, the two macOS applications published by LunaLux. Any section that differs between the two products is labeled below.
100% Local On-Device Processing
Your photos are your creative property. Both LunaLux HDR and LunaLux Editor run 100% locally on your Mac's Apple Silicon hardware. Your RAW files, film scans, and photos are never uploaded to the cloud, never transmitted over the internet, and never used to train machine learning models.
1. Information We Do NOT Collect
LunaLux HDR and LunaLux Editor are both designed as offline darkroom utilities. We do not collect:
- Your Photos, RAW Files, or Film Scans: All decoding, tone-mapping, gain map generation (LunaLux HDR), and negative inversion or film simulation (LunaLux Editor) occur entirely within your Mac's memory and local disk.
- EXIF or Location Data: Camera metadata (such as GPS coordinates, lens details, timestamps) is preserved strictly on your local exported files and never read or harvested by us.
- Browsing or Library Habits: We do not monitor which directories or photos you process. LunaLux Editor's session data (crop, color, and dust-removal parameters) is stored as plain JSON in a local
.lunalux/recipes/folder next to your files — never in a database, and never transmitted anywhere.
2. Payment & Purchase Information
When you purchase a Pro license for LunaLux HDR or LunaLux Editor, the transaction is handled by our authorized Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy (a Stripe company).
- Financial Information: We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers or banking credentials. All billing data is processed in accordance with Lemon Squeezy's strict PCI-DSS compliant security standards.
- License Verification: To activate your Pro license, your license key and an optional instance name (e.g. "MacBook Pro") are transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to Lemon Squeezy's API for validation.
3. Software Updates (Sparkle)
Both LunaLux HDR and LunaLux Editor use the industry-standard, open-source Sparkle Framework to check for software updates. No personally identifiable information (PII) is transmitted or stored during update checks — each app queries its own anonymous RSS feed:

4. Third-Party Analytics & Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising SDKs, or third-party behavioral trackers inside the LunaLux HDR or LunaLux Editor macOS applications, or on our website.
